5 Days | 6 Screens | 120+ Films | Panels, Parties & Special Guests

The Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival has a sole focus – to showcase the feature films and short films of outstanding first- and second-time filmmakers from around the world. We anticipate showing 120+ films on 6 screens at MNFF9, a diverse array of features and shorts across all genres, as selected by MNFF Artistic Director Jay Craven, with screenings at Town Hall Theater, the Marquis Theatre, the beautifully refurbished Dana Auditorium and Twilight Hall [both on the campus of Middlebury College] and outdoors under the tent at Swift House Inn.

Film selections will be announced on August 1, 2023 and the entire program with all MNFF9 events will be available at middfilmfest.org.

Opening Night Film & After Party
August 23 at 7pm at THT with After Party at Swift House Inn – Separate Ticket required for this event.  Your Fest Pass will not gain you entry. Price: $60

Closing Night Ceremony
Closing Night Awards [VTeddies] at 6:30pm at THT, Closing Night Film at 7:30pm. Open to the public.

Day Passes
Your Day Pass will allow you entry to any venue for any film only on the day specified by the pass.

Student Fest Passes & Day Passes
Student Fest Passes and Day Passes can be purchased in person at Town Hall Theater with a valid student ID. Prices vary.

Individual Screenings
You may purchase single tickets for individual films at the time of the screening.  Price: $14.00

Health and Safety
Given current developments and advances in the treatment of COVID, MNFF9 will NOT be requiring attendees to show proof of vaccination. Regarding the wearing of masks at film screenings, we will be complying with the policies at our venues, which currently have mask wearing as an optional choice. However, MNFF continues to encourage the wearing of masks to promote a safer environment at our indoor screening venues.
