Town Hall Theater Presents
The Grift’s Get Down Showdown
at Woodchuck Cider, 1321 Exchange Street, Middlebury
Tickets required; available online via THT only; $25 per ticket benefits THT & The Grift
Join the Grift and Town Hall Theater for a live music experience that celebrates fall, while supporting the arts and artists before the long winter. This daytime, distanced, danceable show debuts music from Clint Bierman and Peter Day’s new band Treetop Mansion, and their recently released, critically acclaimed album, “Up Till Morning.” The event will also feature Leon Campos and Ryan Clausen, two new performers with the Grift. Gates open at 2:00PM outdoors at Woodchuck Cider and music begins at 3:00PM. $25 per ticket benefits the Grift and THT.
In a normal year, the Grift plays more than 100 shows. This year, performances are a fraction of this number for the full-time working musicians. The band has continued to create and connect with its fans, from playing outdoors and at private homes to offering an array of creative work via the donation-based platform, Patreon.
Bierman, Day and fellow musician friends, such as Josh Panda, have been long-time THT collaborators. They sell out New Year’s Eve, host rock n’ roll camps for kids, put on shows that range from Simon & Garfunkel to Queen, and are a key part of the theater’s music scene. Now, the Grift and THT face the shared challenge of creating sustainable performing arts opportunities through COVID-19 — and before temperatures drop.
Tickets can be purchased online only through townhalltheater.org and are will-call only on the day of the event. All ticket holders will be notified of safety protocols, including mandatory mask wearing upon entry, exit and when away from their designated, distanced pods. Bring chairs, good vibes, and dance moves (if desired).
This event is supported by generous partners and sponsors: Woodchuck Cider, Marble Trail Financial, Bees Wrap, Kubricky Construction, People’s United Bank, Brennan Punderson & Donahue, PLLC, American Land Title, and Middlebury Underground.
