WHO WE ARE
Town Hall Theater is much more than just our historic building, lovingly restored in 2008. THT is a cultural anchor for Addison County and beyond; a shared resource for artists, non-profits (including over a dozen resident companies), businesses, and educators; and a destination that unites a diverse cross-section of our community around unique, shared experiences. THT is an inclusive, inviting space for everyone! Your support through ticket purchases, donations, and volunteering helps us continue to thrive with 165 events per year.

Watch the Documentary
In the summer of 2023, as Town Hall Theater stood on the cusp of a major expansion project, Middlebury College interns Naomi Clark and Peyton Mader embarked on a journey to document the theater's past, present, and future. Together, they delved into boxes of archival material and conducted hours of interviews to create this mini-documentary, which was completed in the spring of 2024. Our Historic Bell
This 10-minute documentary by THT Alum Sophie Pope McCright tells the story of our 1887 Meneely bell, which once served as Middlebury's fire alarm and town curfew bell before being saved from scrap in 1961 by the community's "A Buck for the Bell" campaign and, finally, returned home to THT in 2005.
Now a film major at the University of Chicago who will be continuing her work in the field when she graduates this June, Sophie's THT journey began at age 11 playing Macbeth in Shakespeare It's Elementary, continuing through numerous Young Company productions including Annie and The Glass Menagerie. She also acted in several MCP shows including The Nutcracker and The Crucible before graduating from MUHS in 2021.
