VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are essential in making Town Hall Theater an inclusive, warm, and thriving artistic hub.

There’s a special need for front-of-house volunteers who serve as ushers and ticket takers for every production. Plus, they get a very special benefit: a free ticket to the show. No experience is required, and training is provided.

Every year we honor two volunteers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Their name is inscribed in history, painted onto a historic theater stage door, that is prominently displayed for audiences to see.

Apply to be an Usher

Thanks for your interest in volunteering at Town Hall Theater! We're thrilled you're considering joining our community. The most common way to get involved is to be an usher.

There is a simple application process. If accepted into our usher pool, you'll help create a welcoming atmosphere, arriving about an hour before events for training and setup. Your tasks will include ticket-taking, guiding patrons to their seats, monitoring for disruptions, and post-show clean-up.

Once you're in our usher pool, you can choose events to usher on a first-come, first-served basis. We host roughly 165 events yearly, needing volunteers 3-5 times per week. Ushers work in teams, and you can participate as often as your schedule allows. Volunteering is a great way to be part of our vibrant arts community, enjoy complimentary tickets to shows, and meet new people.
