Accessibility

Town Hall Theater (THT) is committed to making our facility and programs accessible to all.
Below please find an overview of THT’s accessibility services.

THT offers more than 165 cultural events annually, as well as youth and adult classes in the arts. THT is located in downtown Middlebury with parking spaces available in the surrounding area, as well as accessible parking spaces and a curb cut available in front of the theater. There is a ramp located on the east side of the building that faces South Pleasant St. that allows entrance into the main floor lobby. Through the box office door, located on the garden level, we offer accessible ramp entry and an elevator that transports visitors to the main theater floor. Please Note: The elevator does NOT go up to the balcony.

Accessible Seating Information: If you require accessible seating, please select a seat in rows AA, A, or B, as these rows can be made handicap accessible. Our standard theater seats have a maximum width of 17 inches with built-in armrests. We also offer wider seats with a maximum width of 19 1/2 inches and seats without armrests in these rows upon request.

If you need accessible seating, please let us know:

  1. The size of your party
  2. If you will be using a wheelchair and need a seat removed
  3. If you would prefer a wider seat or a seat without armrests

All presentations have main level accessible and companion seating available upon request. Please request when ordering tickets. All events include personal curbside assistance on request.

An elevator is available to access all THT performance and gathering spaces, with the exception of the third level balcony. A lift is offered for performers to access the stage.

Accessible restrooms are located in the lower Jackson Gallery and in the Byers’ dance studio.

Hearing Assistance: THT is equipped with an FM hearing system for patron convenience.

Select THT productions are interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL).
